Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening in Thompson, MB

At City Dental Clinic, we offer professional teeth whitening to eliminate dental discolouration and give our patients a bright, healthy smile they are proud to share. The teeth whitening method we use and recommend is Zoom Whitening. Zoom Whitening has become one of the most patient-requested professional teeth whitening brands in the industry.

Teeth whitening offers a fast, economical and easy way to achieve a smile makeover that will take years off of your appearance and boost your self-confidence. While there are a variety of teeth whitening products available in retail stores, such as whitening toothpastes, bleaching strips and mouth rinses, none of these methods are as effective or as safe to use as professional teeth whitening from a qualified oral health technician. Many of these products are ineffective; some can cause allergic reactions, tooth sensitivity and other issues.

At City Dental Clinic, we offer patients a choice of two options for teeth whitening: in-office whitening and at-home whitening. Throughout the process, we will carefully assess your oral health and your cosmetic dentistry goals to ensure a quality result.

In-Office Teeth Whitening
Our procedure for in-office teeth whitening uses prescription-strength bleaching gel in combination with a laser for fast results. Once you have settled on the shade you would like to achieve, we will clean your teeth before beginning the whitening process to eliminate bacteria and food particles that might interfere with the bleaching gel. A barrier will be placed between your teeth and gums to prevent irritation.

Once the bleaching gel has been applied, a laser is employed to activate the gel and speed up the whitening process. This procedure may be repeated several times during your appointment so that your desired results are achieved.

At-Home Teeth Whitening
If you would prefer to perform teeth whitening at home, we will provide you with custom whitening trays that fit precisely over your teeth and prescription-strength whitening gel. Each day or night, you will need to insert the whitening gel into the trays and place them over your teeth. The amount of time required will vary, depending on the current shade of your teeth, but typically at-home whitening requires the trays to be worn for about 15 minutes to an hour. Treatment is normally completed within about 2 weeks.

Teeth whitening is not a permanent fix. You will need to take appropriate steps to preserve your newly-whitened smile, including avoiding certain foods and beverages, and possibly using a take-home whitening kit to touch-up treatments.

If you would like to have a brighter, whiter smile, schedule an appointment with one of our qualified Thompson dentists today. We will review your dental health goals and assess your oral health to determine if teeth whitening is right for you. For more information on Zoom Whitening, visit their website.
